Take the Quick Fitness Test

As the game of tennis continues to evolve, more players and instructors are recognizing the importance of agility, strength and fitness training. Here is a quick test you can take:

1. Stand in the center of one of the service boxes.
Quickly move from side to side, touching the singles sideline and then the center line with your racquet.
Do this for 30 seconds, keeping count of the number of lines you touch.

2. Rest for 30 seconds and then do it again (30 seconds, keeping count).

3. Rest for 30 seconds and then do it again (30 seconds, keeping count).

When you’ve finished you’ll have three numbers. Here’s what those numbers mean.
The first number tells you how fast you are.
The second number tells you how quickly you recover.
The final number tells you a bit about your stamina.

Tennis is a sport where you have just 30 seconds in between points to recover. Your second score will give you a sense of your recuperative ability. Ideally it should equal your first score. The third number gives you some insight into the third set of a match. Ideally, it should be close to your first two scores.
